And I thought I was a bad......

So its a plant its green and it grows in dirt. Besides that it stands just over three feet tall with green flowers. It is by nobody's definition an exotic plant. I was planning to let it go just to see how tall it would get, but it got run over by pumpkins.

Looks a lot like the thistle i've been trying to rid my pasture of...only mine is red in the middle and a little more spiney.

Wife wants to know when you break a stem does it have a licorice smell to it? and your looking at this plant in Calif?? North or South

Shindawa or DR trimmer/ mower

So have you dried it out and smoked some yet?

No it wouldn't do anything. Its certainly not one of those California plants.
Mike, it would have broken my heart to cut it down. I was rooting for the little guy. The only reason it isn't still in the ground is because on any given 100 degree day the pumpkin vines grow a foot in every direction.
Want a hint.

You must be putting the water to the pumpkins.....maybe your pumpkins are behind the drought thing out there.......the roots go all the way to Lake Mead...:D

Mike.:)

I may (or may not be) disregarding this drought policy of which you speak, but only because I may (or may not be) completely and totally aware of what the state is actually doing with the water that they are telling NORTH CALIFORNIA to save. I may (or may not) prefer the pumpkins over the state plan. Maybe. Definitely maybe.

The pumpkins runneth over. I just with that idiot would have stayed out of the picture. Those things that appear to be water sprayers are actually "positive vibe emission units" They were developed by a joint effort from Pelosi, Feinstein, and a substantial quantity of methamphetamines. They encourage your plants with positive messages so that they can grow without being watered and cost 7000 dollars each, but when Jerry Brown is asking you to save water you do whatever you can. :-laf

Those are certainly growing well, the PPV ("Pelosi Postive Vibe") devices appear to be doing the job.

It's a good thing too, because if Jerry Brown had the slightest idea how much water it takes to grow a decent pumpkin the next sound that you heard would be rotor beats from the black helicopter gang.....:-laf

Mike.

Wouldn't really surprise me. There is this town called Berkeley; you know where all the hippies are from, the city wont permit people to cut down anything. That includes poison ivy in your own backyard. Anyone who lives in an area where you don't need to go to a park to find a tree knows that mother nature can be a real b1tch.

Back to the plant in question though; You can find it at any grocery store, it just wont look anything like this. Its what's on the inside that counts.

Oh, that's why you won't weed whack it. Probably Ginseng or something. Maybe there's a truffle under there, you need a truffle sniffin' porker.......

Does it enhance the male libido?? Organic Viagra???

Just more proof that I don't have a clue as to what it is.....:D

Mike.

Yea who knows whats under there. I think the pumpkins have become carnivorous, and started eating stray animals. I haven't seen nearly as many squirrels around lately, and every now and then I find a collar hiding underneath one of the leaves. There was a pile of feather out there this morning, and all the pumpkins whistling a tune and acting like nothing happened. Then I think, wait a minute I don't think vegetables are supposed to be whistling inauspiciously.
