Which 5th wheel length for my truck

Lance Max - All Aluminum Camper

There is going to be a big 2 day consignment auction this weekend. There is a 30' Trailman(?, mental block) flatbed trailer there. Has a flip-up beavertail and a deck over the gooseneck hitch. Tandem axle, duals. 24K I believe.

They've tried selling it on the sale a couple of times. Looks to be pretty new if not new to look at it. Has been there a few years.

Keep forgetting to pick up a magazine to check prices on others to compare to new.

Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

I had a price on a PJ tilt deck 30', 20k trailer from the farm show in January and can't find it. 24K? I thought once over around 20k they go to air brakes? If that trailer your looking at was 20k, I would think around 7 grand new. The PJ dealer I spoke with had a 20k beavertail with top deck for about 6,800. I don't remember the deck length, maybe 25' on that one. This was back in January at the PA Farm show.

you can get a 24 ft with 4ft beavertail and fold over ramps 15K load with twin landing gears for $3,250/3500 fairly easy [includes decking... not the very best deck but and OK one... just for compairson sake

Thanks for the help.

I forgot to look at the plate on it again tonight to see whether it is 20 or 24k. The brakes on it are electric, not vac. or air over hyd. which would probably be better.

I just purchased a 27' deckover dovetail with tandum 7K axels, upgraded steel belted tires, and twin 12K jacks for under 5K from TDR member TX Gooseneck, he owns Brute Trailors out of Texas and has a great delivery discount for us TDR fellers. I paid $250. for delivery to Northern California from Eastern Texas can't beat that with a stick. I know the cost of steele went through the roof on March 1st, so I don't what that did to his prices.

I've talked to TX Gooseneck before. He has great prices.

We bought a trailer awhile back for what he quoted me outright, but it took 2-3 days of haggling to get it that low...

Last three pictures on this page, I have fallen in love (better not tell my truck, or my g/f)

I saw that one too. Was drooling over it. :-laf That is sweet.

There was a bumper pull tilt deck flatbed at the auction. I was watching a truck for my uncle, so I didn't see it sell.

I don't really need to buy a NEW trailer. A used on one would be fine. Not in a big yank to get yet, just looking right now.

Did buy a used aluminum flatbed for my Ram today. Got it for half (or in some cases, more than half)of the price on a new steel bed. Need to replace the floor, but should look pretty good when I get it done. Was a nice suprise on how much difference in weight there was between it and a steel f/b they had there. My dad and I were able to carry it over to the trailer fairly easy without help.

After flatbed, 6" STACKS! Oo. Oo. :D Oo.

Will have to get pictures up when done.

Thanks again for the help. :)
