What is Louder?????

I LOVE DIESEL NOISE





What is louder..... Just removing the muffler and leaving the resonator?... ..... or pulling both the muffler and resonator and installing a 3" in/3" out, 6" diameter, 30" long Magna-Flow(body length, 36" overall) ???????



What determines loudness? Is it the diameter of the muffler, or the length or a combo of both? The longer the louder?

Can't say for sure but I think the shorter the muffler, the louder it would be. Either way, you will probably wind up with the dreaded drone and if towing a lot, you will learn to hate it.

I pulled both. Love the sound. I call it my stealth machine. From a mile or two, they can't hear me coming. Oo.

If you yank both you'll prolly get a drone, if you leave the resonator on, it's still LOUD, but no drone. I have just the resonator on mine, but I also have 5" stacks right behide my head, so it's plenty loud.

I have run no muff and resonator, than the resonator, then four inch system with magnaflow. the magnaflow is a little quieter and is seems to muffle the drone the better than the stock muff an resonator. Tone seems deeper also.

Well............

I guess I will just pull the muffler for now and see how i like it. I like alot of noise, but I still need something under there in case I get inspected by DOT. So I am to nervous to straight pipe it. Was wondering if the magna flow was louder than the resonator, if so, then that is what i will do. Thanks for the input.

Any idea what it costs for the 4in. from the resonator on back? Really didnt plan on spending more than 50-60 bucks on this... .
