Hey guys I am new to the whole 24V engine. I just purchased an 01 HO 6spd Q/C SB 4x4. I am going to get new 4' SS MBRP,EDGE Comp hot or Drag box, SB CON-OFE and of course the triple gauges. I have a HTT HX35/40 14cm2 stage III off my old truck, would this work for now with the edge drag comp? I will down the road go with a HTB2 or similar and some Mach 4's. I do tow about 10,000bs a couple times a month. Oh I forgot I have a homemade BHAF heat shield and BHAF filter of course, should this be able to support that kind of power or different intake setup? I appreciate everyone's suggestion and advice.

Thank you,

Randy

450hp

With a don m 4. 8 injectors, marko ECM, fast full system, HTT puller 66 turbo my 02 HO maked 450hp and 955 tq.

add a fueling box and hp goes up.

only down side is i have to watch the egt when towing. I should have went with a smaller injector for some of the load I tow. but when the truck is emtpy it flys :)

Cummins won't/ can't, hmmm well I think you are wrong on that one. There are alot of guys making that much and more. Hope you can get the lid back on that can of worms.

I would go with the FE clutch, not the OFE, for the 400-450rwhp goal. If you don't pull heavy, that turbo will work with the Comp and may even support a mild set of injectors. Your HO with a Comp, that turbo and a set of Stage 2's would make a little over 400rwhp. Switch to a full 40 sized turbo (4" outlet, full size housing) and you'd typically pick up another 20-40hp.

Thank for all the replies, I don't know what 2-ND TIME is talking about  . I will be ordering all the simple stuff right now like exhaust, gauges and box and just run it on low setting for now :-laf . I know thats probable what everyone says at first but if the clutch goes oh well gives me a reason to get wife mad. Thanks again everyone and any other suggestios are welcome.

Plan a head, I know I didn't. Like... ..... ok If you think you have even the slight chance of making big power make sure you buy something that you will only have to by once. so don't by a ez box when a comp is just a little more the first time. Or buy a blue chip red line box from the start and just be done with it. Maybe just by a timing box that will work with a bluechip box then next time you can add to it. instead of trying to sell it to a budy for half price like I have done many times.

Injectors I started off with a set of bd6 200hp injectors didn't have a bit of trouble with them. But wanted more, now I run a set of Don M injectors again I had to sell my old ones with only 15,000 miles on them. If you even think you want more power later do it right the first time and get what you need.

as a side note pay the extra money and get the edm injectors well worth the extra $$$$$

Air ... . or a bigger Turbo is a must, I am not even going to start on this but I have wasted more money than you would even believe on trying to get more air, I have had a H2E, 50/55, Htb2, killerb2 and the puller 66 all with different components and housings. I bet I could have paid for a set of twins by now. and I still don't have them

Yeah, we built my friends truck, using don M mach 4's, a drag Comp, and an HX40, it made 468hp, so sounds like you're on the right track, but turbo definitely, I'm in the same boat, I just got my 24v. Have the basics on the way, and figuring out the rest.

I just picked up a 01 2500 HO last month and have installed a SBC Ofe, TST PM3 with remote/gauges, a FASS pump and was not very impressed with the power, compared to my 96 (see sig. ) Yesterday I received the Don M. 1. 6 injectors and the Catcher. Today I installed the Catcher and all I can say is WOW!. Even with the PM3 turned off, the acceleration is very strong. If I ever get another 24V, all I am going to get is a Catcher and injectors. That will be plenty enough for me, but on this truck, I still have the 1. 6s, a PDR HX40 and Stan's 4 inch exhaust to install, hopefully next weekend. Can't wait to see what difference those items will make.
