What is the normal Trans Temp when unloaded and loaded. Just hooked up my 140-320 gauge that I got from a guy and I can't make it move.

Where is the sending unit? Pan or the hot line? If in the pan, you might not be able make it move, unless towing. Should have a guage that starts at 100*. I had to do the same thing.

I see 130-140* (hot-line) empty. 160-180* (t/c clutch locked). Have seen over 200* when backing a loaded trailer in high range on t-case, or off-road in soft dirt. Going low side drops it back to a good temp.

I think these truck automatics run cool unless loaded up. Even then I think they have enough heat exchangers built in to make it hard to overheat the trans fluid. I checked the fluid level on mine after running lightly loaded (junk in the back, no trailer) 2 1/2 hours on the highway at 75mph on a 106 degree day. The fluid was warm to the touch, but not nearly hot enough to burn my fingers. I was impressed!

i have the same thing... unless im loaded, it does go any higher that 140, unless in stop and go traffic for about 30-40 min. then it may reach 160. with it colder now i really cant get it to move.

check your pm's, nwhitney.
