While laying under my truck, what berrer way to spend fathers day. I noticed a connector that was capped and not connected to anything. It's on the passenger side, front of the truck, up in the fender.

All I can think of is for the plow harness. Any ideas?

Not the cord for the block heater is it?

Mine was tucked away underneath, in the general direction you're talking about. They put a funny cover on the plug.

Speaking of block heaters, I knew a guy who went to work in Alaska, and then moved to Montana. I saw him in Denver again, and asked him how he was doing. He said he was tired of the cold weather. He said that he was going to drive his truck south and stop at the first place where someone asked him what that cord was hanging from the front of his truck. He knew he would be far enough south by then.

I've got that same mystery plug on my 99 too. I thought it might be something for the 4 bulb headlights. Is yours a Sport or SLT/ST?

JLinder - Not the block heater.

Vic R - Mine is an SLT. Don't remember seing four bulb headlights, what models had them?

I'm pretty sure the sport models of the 99's (and other years I am sure) had 4 bulb headlights. One of the many upgrades I plan to do 'someday'.

Saw it tonight

I saw the plug your talking about. I don't know what it is for. I thought it could be for the gas engine ignition coil? I found that in the manual. But the connector in the manual only has two wires. It had seven wires. It connects to a small block with nothing in it and it is mounted. It is between the front fender liner and the bumper. Got me.
