I purchased a 2005 CTD QC 4x4 SB new about a month ago. Recently a noise has surfaced. It sounds like it's coming from under the rear seats. It sounds like something is about to fall off. Sometimes it sounds like rubber isolaters squeeking. Is it the bed? I've crawled underneath and took a look and pushed and pulled on different components and everything seems alright. This noise can't be normal.

A squeek that drove me bonkers for a while was the 4wheel drive shifter. It would make a decent racket squeeking and I'd have to try and "move" it to the left or right to make it stop, but that'd work only for a minute. Finally, it stopped on its own, only to return periodically.

My truck had a horrid clunking noise devleop with about 500 miles on it. I would go over a bump it it would sound like the bed was going to fall off the truck.

It all stopped at the same time I pulled my fuel tank and installed SPOOLEDUP's fuel tank vent mod...

Check your tank band bolts... 15mm

Cheers, Bill

Could it be your jack and/or jack handle(s) and lug wrench could have come loose under the passenger seat? Mine did.

This sounds like the problem I'm having. I'll check into it. Thanks.

Other threads have found it to be the rear window seal. Mine did this for a while. Hasn't done it for months now. Not sure what caused it or stopped it.

The squeaking in my 4x4 shifter went away after I lifted the boot and sprayed some silicone on the platic linkage. I also had squeking coming from the clutch and brake linkage under the dash on hot days, silcone lube was the fix. I had a horrible metal to metal rattle and found that to be the cat hitting the cross frame support under it. There was maybe 3/16 on an inch space. I pryed the exhaust away giving the kitty about a 1/2 inch.
