I dont know the exact plug and what it is called but between the map sensor plug and factory fuel filer housing is a 3/4 plug. a empty galley behind it. this blew out going down the freeway. so I had no boost, had to limp 40mph to lowes to get a 3/4 pipe thread plug. wrapped it in teflon this is a temp fix. called cummins to get the oem plug but the person I talked to seemed high on smelling glue. so does anyone have a part number by chance on this plug. with out this plug all your intake boost air goes out of this.

Not sure what it's called, but the factory plug really isn't any different than the plug you put in its place. That's just an access port to the intake manifold, nothing special about the plug. Some folks use that as a source for their boost gauge. Maybe someone here has a take-out?

Odd that it fell out. Have you had it out before?

I have never had it out. the last time this would have ever been touched was about 2 years ago when I did the head/rings etc. I guess someone didnt Tq it right or put something on it. I have heard of people over TQ this bolt and damaging the head its pretty thin right there. thanks. i may go to cummins and get the correct one. the pipe bolt I put in didnt have a lip on it. to mate with the side of the head If I keep turning it would just fall in the head..

thanks guys.

that is a quick and easy way if you want to mess with a friend on his truck is to take out that plug. :-laf
