What is the tallest tire I can fit?

I have a stock suspension 2005 3500 drw 4x4. What is the tallest tire i can reasonably fit while maintaining approx the same tread width as the OEM tires? I am looking to reduce my engine RPM across the board while cruising empty.

Is there an equivalent tire size in 17" to the TALL 255-85-16 size availible for the 16" wheels? (255-85-16 = 34. 7" tall I think)

With my 2" leveling kit I can fit my 22. 5" alcoas with 255-70r22. 5 yokohama tires which are 36. 5" tall and I dont rub. Although depending what type of offset rim you plan on running will decide if you rub while turning

I have 35x12. 50 17s on my truck with no lift. They fit nice with the stock wheels.
