They are at ground level in soft sand. Looks like something hatched and crawled out? They are soft and delicate, like rubber but crumble real easy.

I have searched for it but no luck. I think it is a type of plant growth because it has a small pear shape on the bottom like a root. I haven't a clue what was in it or how it got out and where it went. They are completely empty other than a small amount of dust/dirt in the bottom.

I think I will give some to Sammie and see if she will eat it:D

I agree, that's why I am trying to ID what they are. There is no evidence of a plant or mushroom. Just the remains. A seed pod would need to be in a bush so the seeds could fall/get out. Since this is underground, what ever was in there would need locomotion to get out.
