Recently had to go to the dealer due to a faulty turbo speed sensor. While there, they did this to my truck, without asking... .

Ive never had a programmer or anything on my truck. The only thing plugged into the ODBII port besides the starscan was a generic code reader and that was only once, and 65k miles ago... .



the tech told me that the bootloader was just something that prepared the ecm for the latest flash...



is my ecm locked like the March 2009 and later trucks????????

If they did this on the 07 in your sig. most likely so.

yes it is on my 07. But the only time Ive seen the locker retrofitted onto a pre-march 09 truck is if the ecm was replaced... mine wasnt. it was just flashed... .

the bootloader block would be a hardware change not just simply a flash.



The bootloader block has been defeated too.
