What is this?

While looking under my dash when I was installing a CB, I noticed a plug type outlet at the bottom of the dash, under the ash tray. I never really looked that closely under there before to notice it. Does anyone know what it is? Could it be where a tech can plug a computer to monitor the engine?

Yep. It's the data link connector. Techs should be able to get info from ECM and PCM at this port.

Thanks, my truck is 3 years old and I never had a reason to go snooping under the dash.
