Most of the time I start up my truck, I let it idle for a couple of minutes before I move, sometimes I'll hold the RPM's at 1000-1200 (I want a PS high idler), but most of the time my truck will do something I don't think it should.

It will be alright for about 10 seconds, then it will idle a little "harder" I guess you could say. At the same time, the in cab lights, and driving lights will get brighter, the a/c will blow harder, then about 10 seconds after that, it goes back to the "easy" idle, and the lights dim again, and the a/c goes back down. It has happen numerous times, and this is my first winter with the truck so is this normal.

Grid heaters

That's just the effect from the grid heater cycling. Whenever they kick in, it's a pretty good amp draw so you see it in all the electrical systems.

As long as it stops once you get rolling (over 16mph I think is the number), you're OK.

If it is really cold mine will do it also. ( I keep mine in the garage) I can tell by the headlights getting dim then bright. Relax, and just drive it.
