Trip from California to Tenn.

Denver, CO to Bay Area-Need anything moved?

Just thought I would try to start a thread, that will maybe end up a 5 star thread like my "GREAT SMOKE STORIES!" thread is...

Well, here goes nothing:

My first truck was a 1991 D250, regular cab, CTD 3 speed auto. . Nothing special about the truck, except for the fact the 2nd week I had it, it got straight piped... I got that truck 3-25-96... Back in my Junior year in high school, I was sitting in class with a few friends, and we were all talking about what our cars and trucks were named. . The conversation got around to me, and I replied my truck had no name, all this time! A friend of mine, named Betty Jo (BJ for short) told me I should name it after her... Ok, cool! so I did, and my baby was named Betty Jo... Now and then I see my friend whom I named the truck after, and we just laugh about it. I had that truck for a little over 4 years, and still miss it to this day. .

My second truck, the truck I have now, I was cruising around, listening to classic rock, and the song BLACK BETTY came on... . Hmm, What a perfect name!! So, my truck now, is named Black Betty!

Let's hear some of y'alls stories!! Maybe we can make this another 300+ response thread like the other one I made. .

Giddy-Up-GO!

A old Truck driving song and his rig was called Giddy-up-go from his son just hollerin it as he saw it..... Kind neat 'cause that is what my Ram Does, It GOES!! so, Giddy up GO!!

Bullula... cause it's big, kinda ugly (with the dents on the pax side), and she'll surpise the heck out of you how she runs. Actually, with the steel rims on it right now, it's REALLY ugly... :)

Well, I didn't name it, but some fellow iRV2.com members did. We were caravaning from Texas to Nashville, TN for the iRV2.com National Rally, and I got nominated to lead. We were all pulling 5th wheels and TT's of various sizes in the mountains (don't laugh, you Colorado guys) of Tennessee - ours grosses out at 21,180 lbs GCW (21,500 GCWR). One of the guys in the back (driving a DuraMax) radios up to us and says, "Hey, cut that BIG DOG loose and let 'er hunt. " Well, I did, and within 15 minutes he was out of radio range. The only guy hanging with me was another Cummins/Ram with a Bully Dog box. From then on, all we heard was, "Don't mess with that BIG DOG!"

So, I guess BIG DOG it is. ;) :D

Similar story to Rusty's. Had to drive through a bunch of buck brush to get a buddy's elk (hunting at the time). Got back to camp and all the guys had named the truck BABY DOE why, have no clue. She does blend in well to the buck brush, was hard to see her from a distance (Driftwood Pearl).

Godzilla

When I picked him up at the dealership, they had it parked right up at the windows, and right in front of him were rows and rows of shiny new other cars, trucks, etc. . I got ready to drive him home, and as I let the clutch out and started to crank the steering wheel to the stops to avoid hitting any of those other cars, this thought popped into my head:

"Let's see if I can get Godzilla out of here without taking out any of these other cars. "

No idea where that thought came from... but it stuck :D I guess because this truck is just soooo huge compared to almost anything else on the road, or that dealer lot :D:D:D

I forgot to add the other cars here at the house... .

Old 91 Z-71 was HEATER... Had a kick @ss heater in it!

BMW 325i is the Grasshopper, because its green and zips along

New Z-71 is Mighty Whitey. . White/driftwood with the VORTEC 350 in it. Not bad for a gasser!

My kids named my current truck "Brandy" although I'm not sure why.

Previous truck, a 2500 4x4 gasser, was named "Spook"

Truck before that, a 1500 4x4, was named "Missy"

Had a '73 Chevy 3/4 ton named "George" once.

Had a '48 CJ2a I named "Brooke", a play on the word "Broke", since both it and I were broke at the same time.

Wife's car is named "Jade", a green Maxima

'84 Volvo TD (new addition to the family) has no name yet. I'm thinking "Inga" since it's a Swedish car.
