I noticed in my profile that I have been a member of the Turbo Diesel Register for 2 years now. In those 2 years, I've learned more about my Cummins powered Dodge Ram than I ever thought I would. This week alone, I was able to repair the damage from the KDP(which a non-TDR member knows nothing about BTW). I did this with a lot of help from another TDR member. Thanks again MDW.
It started with my 94 3/4 ton. When I bought it, I knew squat about the Cummins under the hood. I did know that it was the best engine in a light duty truck. Unfortunately, I had major problems with the automatic transmission in that one. I also had not heard of the TDR so I didn't know there was so many auto transmission products out at the time. The number of auto transmission upgrades seems to have quadrupled in the past two year. Heck, Bill and Piers were just a couple of very talented mechanics at BD back then.
Two years ago it seemed like 400 HP would be way out of my league. It's not anymore. Anyone with the right truck and a few buck can get 400 hp. It's the 700 HP crowd that we are looking at now. Who knew it would get that high or higher.
Something more important that the vast knowledge is the great friedships I've made through the TDR. The people I now call my close friends are people I've met through the TDR website. Heck one of the guys was wanting to buy the afore-mentioned 94 3/4.
All in all, my experience with the TDR has been a most positive one, and one that I will continue as long as I am able.
To all the members that have offered advice or help these past 2 years, I thank you very much. You guys and gals are great.
