fuel additive

I am replacing my stock Dana 70 dif. cover with a Mag Hitec and wanted some input on the best oil to refill with. Also, as I have the stock L/S unit, how much extra Mopar limited slip additive should I use?

Thanks!

Rob,

I use what the folks at MagHytec recommend - Lubrication Engineers. It's the best oil there is and I'm sure everyone else will agree  :D :D

Hello Dane, thanks for responding,

Where can you buy Lubrication Engineers? I damaged my stock cover, so I need to get the new one on pretty soon.

GDamn trailer came off the ball. Safety chains save it from disaster but the tongue put a crease and small hole in my rear dif.

I have 75K or so with Mobil 1 in both axles. Works like a charm for me. Use NO modifier. If it chatters add 2 ounces at a time, drive some tight figure 8's. If the chatter is not bad put a few drives on the oil before adding more modifier, too little is TONS easier to fix than too much. Add to much and the charge of oil is WASTED.

Rob,

I get mine from Lubrication Engineers directly, but you gotta buy a lot of it. I use it in the Ram, the Wife's Honda and all my mowers, tiller, generator, etc...

I was making fun about it being the best, once you've seen us get into a "what's best" oil war around here you'll understand:D

I think you can get LE oil from Mag-Hytec

http://www.mag-hytec.com/oil_products.htm

I use 2 bottles of friction modifier from Dodge in my Dana 80. Be carefull about letting the limited slip chatter from too little friction modifier. That chatter is the sound of metal being scuffed off the internals.

Depends were you live????

I have not doudt LE oil is a very high quality oil, but I think it would perform poorly up here this time of the year. Highs below zero the next few days. Mild compared to our neighbors to the north.

Temps down to zero LE is probably fine. Much operation in temps below zero I would be having a good FULL SYNTHETIC 75W90 oil.

I am not sure there is such a thing as the BEST. At what point does something become the best, how long does the title last. Maybe nothing wrong with second best???
