I just received my MAG-HYTEC cover for the front differential and would like to use some remaining qts of amsoil 75-140 for lubrication. Is this too wide a range since the shop manual calls for 80W-90. Both are rated API GL 5.

Gene...

Would Amsoil 2000 75-90w be OK? I have a half case left over from the rear diff. Truck has less than 100 miles in 4 wheel after almost 33K.

thanks.....

Absolutely! I am biased, but that would be my 1 st choice.

One note;

Amsoil claims it lasts much. much longer than regular lube. It does.

BUT, In Pennsylvania, we have a moisture problem, I change once a year regardless of mileage. At one year it looks like new lube. First time I ran it, I went two years, it was starting to look nasty, no abnormal wear, but I just did not like the looks of it.

I suppose in Texas it could last virtually forever. Consider your climate.

I am due for a front cover, tell us what they are like.

Gene

My front cover should be here any day now... :D

I'm poised and ready with my Amsoil Series 2000 75W-140 (I'm currently using Series 2000 75W-90 in the front differential).

PS: the Amsoil Series 2000 75W-140 is NOT too thick for the front differential. :)
