Am running Wild Country TXR 255/85/R16's. They seem to have good traction in mud and snow, but they throw lots of rocks, and my rear panels show it. They're also fairly soft sidewalls, which makes for a lot more roll/pitch in high speed cornering on the highway... makes it tough to race rice! :)

They seem to be wearing ok... have about 10k or so on them, and they look fairly new. I'm figuring I can get 40k out of them (conservative, cause I don't think I've ran 10k off them yet), and they're also only my winter tires... have another set of summer tires that I run on my long highway trips.

I also run a 255-85-16, and have been for the last three years. I have both BFG MT's and TRXUS, both are very good tires, and they offer great traction. I believe the BFG's will last longer though.

I prefer the Dunlop Radial Rover RV. It has been a very good tire for the price IMHO. If you are looking for a real agressive offroad tire this is not it, but it is a great all around tire otherwise. They probably won't run a ton of miles, but I think dollar/mile they would be close to some of the more expensive tires out there.

I have the Toyo M-55 in the 255/85 and like them a lot. They're pretty aggressive and sing on the highway. They are heavy duty in the sidewall. I only have about 9k miles on them so far, but I can't detect hardly any wear yet. They were very hard to come by.

Ok I'm still not sure on what make but I am stock 4x4 and want to know will I need to do anything about the clearence for the front tires?

Thanks

Bob
