I desperately need a set of flaps for my truck. I was just wondering what eveyone else is running on there 2500's.

I have the Dodge add on mudflaps. They look nice but dont do a d**m thing as far as blocking rocks. I had a set custom made last week. Didnt want the 5er to look like my TT did. The flaps use the hitch bar for mounting. Slide them in each side of the tube and tighten a set screw. I agree that Jason at NW Custom makes an excellent product.

I have the "Husky liners" mudflaps. They are custom fit for the Rams and look really nice. They also can be painted to match since they are rigid plastic. Simple to install too.

I mounted dually mudflaps front and rear with stainless steel sheet metal screws.

Keeps stuff off the sides and off the 5th wheel.

I have a set from Dodge also. Been thinking about the kind that hang down that go in the reciever tube for when I have the 5er along.

I purchased a set of flaps from cheapaccesories.com They are heavy duty rubber with high luster or diamond brite aluminum accents at the top and bottom. The flaps for single wheeled trucks are 12x18 inches, for dually 18. 5x24. $34 and $58 per set. I bought the singles, but would buy the dually ones and trim to fit if I had to do it again, just for better coverage. I think they were made by deflecta shield. Take a look, I think they are priced right.

tmpenner:

Did the supplied mounting brackets mount up without problems or did you experience some "modifications" during installation? Finally, measured from the ground up, how much space is in between the ground and the bottom of the flap please? I ask this because all of the flaps I've seen recently have them stop half-way up the tire therefore missing alot of the debris picked up by the tire. I undeerstand that as a load is placed on the rear of the truck the flaps will be a bit lower, but I'm just curious about unloaded. Thanks!! #ad

David:

My wife stole my pickup so I can't go out and measure but I can tell you this, I would definately buy the dually flaps(extra 6") if pulling a trailer. I am planning on an extra set of flaps off of the reciever when I'm pulling. The mounting brackets consist of a 1" flat iron with a 90 degree angle at the end that mounts at the top. Not much of a custom fit if you ask me. Try taking a piece of flat cardboard cut to the previously mentioned size and fit them to your pickup and see what you think for mounting them.

Andy... wish I would have known about NW Custom prior to buying this truck. I have never liked running boards, but they seemed to offer the best protection for the rockers of what I could find. After seeing your Ram and John's Ram, I knew it was just a matter of time til I got the "last ones I will ever own" from NW Custom!

Hey, Rob, you're not the only one, I had a set of Yosemite Sam "Back Off!" mudflaps on my '79 F250!
Here's a pic of my mudflaps, made by Northwest Custom. If you don't like diamond plate, he can do stainless, too. I put mudflaps on the front and rear, because I live on a gravel road, and I wanted to protect the rocker panels. Andy
