It adds up fast!

Mom buys F350 PSD, disowns son....

I'm on the freeway today and I come up on this nice looking Ford Dually. I should have noticed he was bombed because when he sped up to change lanes there was a puff of black smoke.

Well I slow down and start pacing him (70-75) and we hit it, I started pulling on him , I also noticed his assortment of gauges on the pillar. Then we got into some traffic and had to slow down after we got passed the traffic we went at it again. I started pulling and then he slowly started pulling me. I hate that feeling !!!

So now what next ?!?!? Any ideas ?!?
 
yeah injectors would work also,maybe some dd 2s or 3s. warning adding horsepower becomes addicting. dd2s will give you 80 hp & the 3s will get you 100 hp. with injector changes you may want to add a pyrometer. happy bombing. kurt.
 
First your gonna have to take some prozac!! Then your gonna have to call rod at wildcat diesel and Piers then maybe enterprise. That might get you ahead of the powerjoke.
 
Could you tell if he had an auto aswell?



To me and its just my personal opinion but Auto transmission's suck for racing in the CTD's.

I've never drove a nice bulit transmission so maybe the bombed ones are nice.

I have a friend who has a 94 with the #5 plate also and when we mess around with our 2 trucks its not even close.





He smoke the transmission and when he had it rebulit he did some mods, I'm not sure what but now its slipping again.



He likes to drive my 5 spd and feel the real "PULL".
 
cwarner,you need trans work first,then go with a comp box or injectors. I had a bombed PSD try me a few weeks ago,I let him think he had me for a few seconds,the eased into it,and reeled him pretty fast.

I had a chance to beat a Ford up pretty bad the other day. Driving down I10 I come up on a ford with a Banks sticker on it. As I pull up along side of him I see the tell tale signs of a chip. Oh No, little puffs of smoke:D I start off by letting him think he has me. We let back off and are side by side. I am now on 5x5 Kill. I give him a look and were off. In the first 3 seconds I have him behind me in a constant hue of dark grey. I don't let up til' he is 10 car lengths back. As he pulled back up he wouldn't even look over. Can you say SPANKIN':D :D

when you say trans work what exactly are you guys meaning ? can I get away with just a valve body ?

After that I guess injectors. Now DD2's will give me 80hp more than what i have now ? Yeahwhooo !!!

I am trying to keep this truck somewhat warranty-able, it only has 25k on it.

Another question,

I want smoke ! I know there are adjustments on the Edge EZ will these do anything ? Right now it is no the stock setting from the factory.

cwarner, if you want the truck to remain warrantiable,you need to stop the bombing now,and live with a slow truck. Once you go with the trans mods,and tap the pump wire/add injectors etc... your warranty is history. Id go no further until you are ready to kiss the powertrain warranty goodbye. I kissed mine goodbye,best thing i ever did,truck was to slow,and not fun to drive,now its a muscle car stomping tire shredding beast,even if it did cost a lot of $$,you get what you pay for,IMO. Do it once,do it right.
 
10 minutes after...

I put on the EZ & 275's. I was driving in town, and this guy in the equivalent PSD started toying with me (I was hoping he would). He had a buddy with him.



We came from a 2 lane to a 4 lane, with him behind me. I heard his turbo come up full as he shot to the left lane, and I responded in kind, in 4th. He got up to about my cab, and I started leaving him. Hit 5th and he was gone... and I changed over into the fast lane in front of him with about a 3 car lenght gap (it was safe to do so). I looked like this :D !

As for the transmission mods, I have an updated clutch pack, Torque converter, Valve Body, Cryo input shaft and hub. Band strut is different, There is also a more aggressive release lever in there somewhere. " What does it do?" you might ask. It will hold all the power I make and even more. There are a couple of trucks running around with 600+ HP and the same transmission as I have and they have no problems. If I were to start over, I would get DDII's, Edge EZ, 4" exhaust, and a built transmission. For all around use, this is the set up I prefer. Don't get me wrong, I love all the power I have in my truck. Most of the time I just use it to show off. With our 2003 It will get these mods and thats it.
