Can anyone steer me in the right direction to build up my ctd. ideally id like to see 400+ horse, but my problem is what parts? theres so many injector and turbo vendors with so many options i dont know waht would work best for me, and i really dont want to be doing things twice. ive been studing forums for ideas on a inj/turbo combinations, but im still not sure what is compatible. i dont tow with my truck so weight isnt really a variable. i was considering dynomite or mach injectors (80-150hp range) and either II or HTT spinners. what combination would make the best daily driveable haul***** power. simply put i want a powerful set up that works.

my idea was DDP 3s and a SPS62. what are your expeirences? any input is greatly appreciated!

With the sticks and turbo you have listed and with the edge you will be in the 450+ range very very easily.

100 HP injectors and edge drag comp plus the turbo you listed should put you about 400-425 hp give or take and be very driveable. You will most likely be within the safe limits of the stock headgasket also which is nice. I am currently running mach 4. 5's which i believe don said were about 155 HP and they are very driveable with the B1 turbo. I have been oringed though. On a ETH, and that much fuel/boost, i think the stock gasket will go boom sooner or later, so decide how far you want to go. Oh yeah, the stock clutch probably wont last 1000 miles with that much go, so you may as well budget that now. My advice, go twin disc and dont look back. I've tried several clutches and will never buy another single disc. my. 02

I would build a good foundation before putting power to it. When I added 90 hp injectors to my edge comp... . slip city said the stock clutch. I would start there & if you have no plans on sled pulling or really heavy towing & 400 hp is where you want to be... ... . single disc clutch is gonna be fine. The injectors are a important choice because power is only limited to the amount of black smoke that you don't mind throwing. A 100 hp injector is gonna throw some clouds, but they are very manageable where anything bigger is gonna **** the guy next to you off at a stoplight. :{ The sps 62 or super stock 62 are awesome all around turbos & have actually been tested to out flow 64 compressors. My opinion is clutch first, 80 to 100 hp sticks, super 62 turbo & some new underwear. :-laf

yeah im just waiting for the stock grabby clampy thinger to burn up. i figure ill go with the SBC FE just for the holding capability, i dont mind if its real grabby since i drive like crap and it wont be towed with... what would differ from a 62 to a 64, if running the same 100hp sticks? sorry if my questions are dragging out, im just young, dumb, and full of diesel. thanks for the help.

The 64 compressors are slower spooling & In my opinion was not as fun to drive as my super 62. In your case... where you aren't going to be towing... the 64 would work fine. I just like the 62 compressors for the fun factor. . fast spooling, cool running & if you think that you need more later. They are upgradeable at a fair price, but I think that you would be happiest with the 100 sticks & super 62. The southbend clutch is a good one for you, but remember to check out Luk Gold Series too. Luk makes the stock clutch that is in your ram right now & I really like mine & the price is better too. Your questions aren't dragging out... Thats what TDR is all about. Keep em' cummins.

Not all injectors are created equal. I had a set of 150 edms that didnt smoke hardly at all (unless i wanted them to). I switched to a set of 100hp inj. and they smoke almost as bad as my 220s do. Simply i just dont like them.

With all the injectors out now, i would just talk to the vendor you want to by all you stuff from and see what they would recommend.

Im wanting to try a set of 11 hole 150 or 130 hp inj. and see if they run cleaner. Now in looking into getting better fuel milage now that i got the power bug out of me. Well the wallets empty i guess. :-laf

what would i be looking at for a max injector size with a sps62/14ldp? when would heat become an issue? anyone have any input on garret powermax turbos? i like the idea of ball bearings and watercooling.

Why don't you try and find someone near you that has the HP level you want, and see if that is where you REALLY want to stop, HP wise.

Power is VERY addicting. And it's very easy to want, and get, more power from these trucks!

I liked my truck at stock until I added 275s and a Van Aaken box! At 328 hp it wasn't a slouch, but it didn't take too long before I wanted more.

After a couple more renditions, I should be in the 420 to 450 hp range, and I am happy with this power. I have enough to tow whatever I want, and be able to pass people going up hills. I can still have fun while empty. A good combo for me.

I would LOVE more power, but I tow, so it has to be usable for me. So am happy where I am at. I just want rock solid EGTs and a dual disc clutch now :(

Anyways, take a ride in a few people's trucks and see what that power is REALLY like. This will really help you figure out if only 400 hp is 'enough' for you ;)
