Thanks, TDR Staff

Hooray!! Snowfall has started!!

Dually Mudflaps for the rear

Pulled the truck into the shop last night after working on the car, cleaned up then went to get a bite of food, came back pulling into the shop I notice an extension cord in the middle of the floor(saying I know I didn't leave that mess) well you know what I did, it is purely technique to unplug your truck prior to driving off or starting. No damage and it still works fine, Just a little FYI.

Here's an idea:

What I've done is drape the extension cord over my driver's side mirror so I see it when I open the door.

I remember last winter, one of the Alaska guys posted a link to a company that makes a quick disconnect plug for block heaters. Just back away and it releases the cord.

That's how mine works, extension cord is bomb proof connected to a post, heater cord to the frame. Been using the same cords since my '95s were new and have never disconnected by hand. Much cheaper than a $250 automatic unplugger. Just use a high quality cord.

Hows about the self disconnecting cord that fires off when truck goes into gear?? Mebbe surplus sale at NASA?? Seriously, 'glad' to hear someone else done it, cause I KNOW one of these days I gonna dood it too!!

They make 'em

Got them on some of our firetrucks, we keep them plugged in to battery conditioners. The trucks that dont have them have been spotted dragging a retractable cord reel and behind them:eek:

Some one posted a link a month or so ago for the Auto-Disconnect plug used on Emergency vehicles.

As I recall the thing costs about $300.

I can buy alot of extension cords for that kinda $$.
