Ok, so I got my truck dyno'd this past weekend and was very happy with the results. With everything in my signature I made 441. 3 hp and 933. 6 ft-lbs. I believe I am making more, probably right at about 450 hp and 950 torque, cuz the way the dyno reacted when the operator applied more load to it. But I will get to that in another thread.
So running the #10 full forward gave me those results and I am looking for more to achieve that 500 hp mark. So what should I run? Right now EGTs are fine and the HTB2 clears up the smoke real good so I could definatley use a lot more top end fueling. I have a custom ground #100 that I made from my stocker and a Banks plate that I ground flat. Should I try one of them or go for something with an actual curve like a #4?
Also, probably a good time to ask this would be after which plate I decide to go with, but where on the curve is the best to set the gov. lever? I have never adjusted the lever before, so it is still at factory setting but on my #10 with it full forward it rides from the bottom tip of the plate to the very middle of the V and does not go any higher. Which is interesting cuz on the road it feels like the engine is hitting the de-fueling top end of the plate at the higher revs(hence my want for more top end power and smoke) but the lever mark does not show evidence of that.
Anyway, let me know what you guys think and any good advice to help me get to 500+hp!
Joe
PS - For all you guys suggesting to just take the plate out, save your breath, I am always going to run a plate.
