Tried searching on the correct sealant to use on the PTO side covers on the transmission. Could not find it and do not remember which one I used the previous times I changed the fluid. I think I used the Permatex Ultra Black.

Is this correct? I saw they had an Ultra Gray too, so I do not want to get the wrong one.

I always let it sit overnight to make sure it's cured, but is it ok to drive it after few hours?

I picked up Pennzoil Synchromesh as it has been good to me in the past. I know it meets Chrysler specs.

Thank you.

I used the ultrablack when I put my fastcoolers on way back when. I only let it setup for 15 minutes or so, no leaks after 60,000 miles and six or so many years.

Thanks. I thought so, but did not remember for sure.
Have you tried adding from the top- through the shift tower?
I always try to add more fluid, but even raising the driver side, it's hard to get more fluid. I want to try adding from the top this time. People say they add from the top easily. How do you guys do it? What do you remove on the inside to get to it?
How much should I try to get in? The capacity for the 2WD and NV5600 is 4. 75qt. if my mind serves me well. Is 1 qt. extra enough? That bring it up to 5. 75qt.
Thank you.

I have just run two wheels up on the tall curb in front of my house to raise the one side to put extra in, don't remember how much extra I got in. Pulling the shift tower is just a few bolts, it's due for an oil change, maybe then.

I probably should not say this because I will have a transmission problem!!! I used the gray Permatex with no leaks let it sit over night b4 filling. I did not over fill really except jack the drivers side so I could get my fat butt under the truck.
