Ok, so I have the truck in my signature and I am looking to get it up to the 450-500hp range now. I was wondering what the most cost effective way is to do it. I know I need a transmission first and a fuel pressure gauge so those are in the works now. (I am still torn between ATS and DTT)

Anyways, I have searched and read lots and from what I gather, it may be wise to go with a B1 turbo, and EDM 2. 5's or Mach 3 injectors? I also would like a Scotty Air II and was wondering if that would work with a bigger turbo.

My ultimate goal is a truck with lots of HP that is a reliable, daily driver, can race on the weekends (empty) and tow 10,000 lbs occasionally without a huge EGT problem or fuel delivery problem.

I also plan on doing something to make the vp44 last but I am not sure what. I have read so much about adding a Holly pump and larger banjos and larger lines and was wondering if there is a kit to do all of that.

I am not concerned about smoke (I actually think it looks way cool) but would like to keep EGTs in check and I hate huge turbo lag. I would like to avoid O-ringing the head and wouldn't be opposed to twins to reduce lag if I could do it for reasonable cost and keep the boost down within head gasket tolerances.

Anyways, advice on all of these issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, in advance, for your time.

I am going to watch this post to learn my self but if you want a awesome fuel pump that will save the VP44 get the F. A. S. S system. It is spendy but not as much as a VP44. Also get the fuel pressure guage from Geno Garage it is cheap and easy to install. No fuel in the truck... I tryed the Bigger banjos bolt but didn't do much (5 wot), heard alot about the Holly pumps not lasting like stock LP. I have the F. A. S. S and I can't get the fuel pressure below 15. 5 at WOT. I have a edge comp and DDIIs and I have EGT problems on level 5 (1600 deg) level 4 (1450 deg) level 3 (1300 deg) so I want to see what else comes about for the turbo issue. I have heard good things about the B1. Allthough I think I would get the KSB1 (KS=quick spool).

Match your injectors to your Turbo. With a Comp and Mach 3s, I would recommend a Kwikspool B1 (standard wheel, small housing). If you go with Mach 2. 5s, you can go with a B1B (small wheel, standard housing). Mach 2s, and you can go KSb-1b (small wheel and housing).

The Scotty works perfectly with the bigger turbo.

If you want to keep your Headgasket safe, then 45psi is a common rule of thumb for boost limit. At this level of boost, going to twins would NOT be cost effective unless you did a cheapie setup with an hx35 and Ht3B. Even then, you'd still be dollars and time ahead sticking with a single charger.

Anyway, Mach 3s and a comp will tow 10K at triple digit speeds up a vertical cliff:) Mach 3s and a comp are enough fuel for about 460-480hp with a single turbo. You'll want a KwikSpool B1 to cool it-- a full B1 might be too laggy for towing.

As for the VP44, I have the Wildcat MaxFlow setup and it is VERY good. Even with 350+hp I can't get it below 11psi with my original lift pump. I'd recommend the Wildcat fittings at least to relieve the restrictions there. Then you can use the -8AN fittings to plumb in the aux delivery system of your choice-- holley, FASS, Preporator, PE, Aeromotive, whatever... .
