Okay, about to intall my ez, but am wondering if I should be concerned about my auto trans also? I will mostly be driving around without a load, but when I do pull its around 13000 LBS. Is the stock transmission okay with just the eze box, and no other upgrades, or should I really do something to that transmission? What would the most cost effective upgrade be for the transmission?

thanks guys?

You can get away with the stock trans. and EZ for a while if you take it easy when towing, I have ran that way for two years but I don't pull that much weight ( my TT wts around 7k). Have you read about the DTT trans. upgrade not cheap but the best way to go if you want to start uping your HP. CK. www.dieseltrans.com

baccoman,

I have an EZ and BD-1 injectors. I don't tow that often, but when I do, it's about 6-7k. I have replaced the VB w/ one from DTT (the TC is sitting on the garage floor waiting for the time to take the truck in)and do not have any problems. Try it. You can always un-plug it(EZ) if the TC does slip.

Call Bill K. if you want the real low down.

baccoman, keep the RPM up and you will be fine. Servicing the transmission needs to be done every time on time regardless of towing or not. You are better off to run it pretty hard towing than to ease it around, the RPM will stay up and pressures will stay up. Lock out the OD under about 1700 RPM and have fun. They sure tow better with an EZ, that is for sure.

Keeping the RPM up is key, the torque your engine makes with the EZ at 1500-2000 is extremely hard for the transmission to hold.
