Now I know that this has been brought up before but I can't seem to find old posts on just what I need. My question is about how much hp/tq, 1/4 mi. et. should I expect after adding a drag comp, HX40, and DDII's to my current setup? I'm in the process of upgrading the trans. so that wont be an issue. Also, am I going to have to make any fuel delivery upgrades to keep up with the new mods? I cant wait to get this stuff on the truck and Ive got a buddy with a DMax and a 90 horse chip that I havent seen yet and kind of want to know what will happen when I try to "surprise him" on the way to our work weekend at the hunting camp in GA. Thanks for the help,

Adam

Well, here's my guesstimates. With a good auto that won't fail on you, you should be able to put about 375 HP & around 750 - 800 #'s of torque to the ground with an HX40, DD 2's & drag Comp. As for 1/4 mile times... I'd guess maybe low 14's and 92 - 95 MPH???

If you have no fuel line upgrades at all, I'd highly recommend at the very least getting some of the larger banjo bolts. I think Geno's Garage sells a kit. Better yet, I think Diesel Dynamics or Bully Dog or someone is now selling a mild braided stainless steel kit that upgrades from the fuel filter to the VP44 and eliminates the banjos entirely. That's what I have, although my kit was put together by Vaughn MacKenzie (I think) a couple years ago, he was selling them back then.

similar set-up

I dynoed my truck about three weeks ago with a similar set-up. I have a regular comp (not the drag version which, I think, is advertised as 30 more HP). On 5x5 I reached 412 HP. They couldn't give me a torque reading because they didn't have an optical pickup for RPM's

Is this true? I only thought that the drag box just doesnt defuel at 2700. Can someone clarify this?

GatorRam,

My mods are less than yours and I run very low 14's consistently(like 14. 00 to 14. 1) I even ran in the 13's on my last run at the track last friday.

I would say with the Hx40 and drag version of the comp you should hit 13's easy if your trans does it's job.

I have never dynoed, so can't help you there.

I had a 2001 with the exact mods you are asking about. I dynoed at 426 hp 859. 5 tq. That was with a small hole in the intercooler boot. As for the duradud, Take him for a ride in your truck and have him watch as you beat up on anything on the road. I had beat Corvette's and exotic sportscars. Everything I raced was an easy target. Another pickup is just a fun thing to beat up on. You will be amazed at how this thing will run. I would say you will be near 440-450 hp. As for the fuel upgrade all you need is a pusher pump back by the fuel tank. That seems to be the cure for the lift pump problems... .

Greg

Gator,

Drag comp fuels to 3100 rpm's. all else fall flat at 2700. DD claims an additional 50 hp at 3100 rpm's.
