I have a 2007 3500 SRW 4X4 with the cloth interior and a 6 speed. I have the factory exhaust brake, torquelift frame mounted camper tiedowns and the Superhitch double receiver hitch rated at 18000 lbs. I have a turnoverball hitch and a Roadmaster rear sway bar, the truck has about 4000 miles on it and I love it but need one of the new 4500/5500's for a large slide in--what do the experts here think I should ebay this truck for??

You should sell it for as much as you can get. Or sell it to me, cheap! :)

The first question is, Do you have to sell it? If you don't need to get out of it to get into your next truck, you can hold out for more money, even to the point of not selling.

If you are going to sell it, put it on Ebay with your favorite method (Reserve, No Reserve, Buy It Now, Best Offer... ) as many times as it takes to get at least your minimum dollar.

If you don't have to sell it (or at least not quickly, I would approach it like this:

1. Add up the market price of the truck and all the accessories.

2. Increase the value for hard to find items everyone wants.

3. Decrease the value for accessories only you care about.

4. Decide if you would take a discount because the new owner will not get the "buy it new off the lot" or "order and wait for it" experience.

5. Decide if you will command a premium because the new owner will not have to spend hours waiting around for accessories to be installed and can quiz you on exactly how everything works.

If you want someone on this forum to try to guess what starting bid would be a good one, I would think there needs to be some more information, like how much you have in it.

Hopefully, someone will PM you and offer to buy it with a price you can live with. That may be what you are after, anyway. :-laf

Good luck!

Assuming you have to sell, prepare yourself for the fact that you've just driven the most expensive miles in it.

Good luck with it.

28 - 33 K per Kelly blue book...

How heavy is this slide in camper? Size ?

What about running 19. 5 and maybe converting to a dully? Sounds like a cheaper option,

My truck is a pre DPF 5. 9 with the 6 speed manual trans. I was going to run the camper in the sig but my fat *** don't work well in the bathroom and I find standing with one foot in the tub and one in the toilet to be a slight discomfort when using the bathroom sink. I am going to return to the 1181 style camper I sold last yeat, I had it on a 550 Ford but soon grew tired of wondering where I was going to be when the head gaskets faild so I came back to Cummins. I weighed the Lance 1181 before i sold it and just slightly loaded it came in over 5000 pounds, these new slideins work the crap out of your truck you can pull a 40 foot 3 axle 5th wheel with less load on the truck!!

Well Russknh ... it kind of sounds like money isn't really an issue for you, If I understand it right, you also want to sell your camper off, I figure your 10 - 15K upside down on your truck,

" ebay has a truck with a bid at 30K right now"

+ your camper maybe 5-10K there too... . Yes you can get lucky and find someone to pay top dallor for both but it looks like a 20K option to me. for 20K I can pee out side and wash my hands in the kitchen sink.

You still have a great truck and camper... . I assume most of the time you are camper less, so even more of a reason to keep what you have, unless you really haul it around all the time your still at least 6+ months away from a 4500 or 5500 truck.

My DRW SLT, 4x4 quad cab, with 75 miles weighed in at about 7200 lbs + 5K camper your at 12,200 lbs, I think my max GVW is 12,500 so your over with people and gear but your close. I think I would look into a dully conversion, and or maybe 19. 5 tires and overloads springs, even in stock form the truck will carry 5K in the back, but lack of dully and height I think you would feel better with a dully for the stability. I think if you looked for a little while you might find someone who has a dully that wants to go to singles,

Basicly it comes down to $$ as you allready know, but I think your best option is to convert what you have to the ultimate, setup with the 5. 9 Oo. and save a ton over taking a hudge hit.
