Anyone running a 4 hole 12 thou injector? Does anyone know the size holes that DD offers with there stage I, II, III injectors?

As far as I know all 24-valve engines use 6-hole injectors from the factory, and all DD injectors are the same.

EDM injectors from F1 Diesel are 8-hole I believe.

I have no clue what the hole diameters are on any of the aforementioned injectors.

I thought that the 600's were 7 hole?

I think the gen 3 injectors are 8 hole 6 thou from the factory. The 24valve injector is a 7 hole from the factory.

Stock 235/250/305 injectors are 8-hole . 0045". Stock 325 injectors are 5-hole at . 008".

BTW, hole size is not the only key to HP.

Here is some information from Don~

The stock 3rd Generation injector nozzles have 8 holes.

The stock 3rd Generation 325/600 engine that began in the 04. 5 model year has 5 holes, not the 8.

Both nozzles have a hydraulic flow rate that is just about the same.

The spray angle on the first released 8 hole is 143 degrees

The spray angle on the 04. 5 is 124 degrees.

The tighter spray angle in the 04. 5 year is to be certain the fuel sprays into the combustion bowl because the first and last injection event is so far from TDC. The tight angle is practically chasing the descending piston on its way down during the last injection event

All I'm saying is that an injector with bigger diameter holes will not always make more power than one with smaller holes - depending on how they were made/upgraded.

Having not run DD injectors on this ride yet,I hope thats right. I had some in my truck that were to be 65 hp that showed 42 on the dyno. NOT DD injectors.

Keith,

Are you saying that with to big of a hole you won't burn all the fuel, and you could lose power. What are the hole sizes of your DD3's?

That is a definite possibility. We have seen that. We do not even measure our hole sizes because it's irrelevant to us. What matters is how much power you gain by putting them in.

I have had DDII's and DDIII's in my truck. I liked the 3's better for HP but with the towing I do, The 2's are better. I have installed alot of the DD injectors and have never expeirenced a problem. Great product and flawless opperation.

I also had a set of DD3's in my truck and no problem with them either. However the hole size is relevant to me. So, Keith if you had to guess, how big is a DD3 injector nozzle? If you don't measure the hole size how do you tell the difference between a stage 2 or 3 injector without dynoing them  . Also what is the latest on that new single charger?

Thanks for your time

No idea on the hole size, like I said, it means nothing to us... only how much power they make. The only way to tell a stock from DD2/DD3 etc is to dyno it. You can't tell by looking.

New turbo is still in the works. Looks like the first of the year.
