I was driving home yesterday from MMiller's place and noticed a funny sound. So I stopped and noticed the inside of my left rear tire was covered in brake dust. I am thinking it must be a piece of gravel or something, as I didn't notice it grabbing and the drum is not hot to the touch. Either way I need to tear into it. I doubt I have the right size here. Can you get at it with a regular socket, or do you need one of those special thin wall sockets?

I don't know if the 2 9/16 is going to get it? Are dana 60 rears the same as dana 70 rears, Terry your gasser only has a 60 rear right? I could go out and verify on my dana 60 rear I have here.

Yes its going to take a thin wall socket. What I have done in the past it used a chisel and hammer to drive the nut off, then go to town to get parts and the correct socket. If its got the nylon lock ring in the nut, you should replace the nut anyways.
