Hello everyone, dumb question time. Does anyone recall (from doing the job before) what size socket I should use to remove the nut on either side of the front axle that you have to take off (has the kotter pin through it) before you can remove the hub?

Thanks

Thanks Rick, I was thinking it was 1 3/4 or 1 11/16 but I'm going to borrow one from work and my truck is on jack stands at home where I can't physically check. I'm having to put on new hubs and ball joints at 77,000 miles.

Here is a tip to get hubs off, In back are four bolts that hold bearing hub on, loosen each bolt about 1/2 inch or so. Tap each bolt one at a time, till hub breaks loose. Make sure you reinstall with anti seize

Coulda used that information a couple of days ago. Spent $345. 00 each for some SKF hubs at NAPA. Yeesh!! Thanks for the info Rick.
