Well I know that but...

Steve,

I know about the bad lift pumps and P-pumps and changing cams and plungers inside the p-pumps, I was just courios about the VP pump mods that Piers lists. In fact I wish I had a P-pump. I read a post by Joe D. that said DD's P-pump red truck made around 375 horses, and got around 25 mpg (Joe correct me if I read this wrong). It's just that I wish to squeeze out as much as I can, and I think that tuning the VP will have to be done.

bob c , i donb't think you will get good flow trying to pump thru a dead pump , i think it was tryed and wouldn't work .

i would just install the good pump in the rear and rig it up so you can have the factory still in the truck as a spare , someone gave me a great idea using a ferd part , ford has an electric fuel switch on the older trucks with dual tanks , a couple of them and a toggle on the dash will switch from one to the other and you won't even get dirty if the one at the rear fails ...
