I first like to say that this forum is much better than many of the other ones I have been on. With that said, I am looking for a new set of tires and was wondering if I would be better dropping back down to a 265/70/17 or sticking with a 285/70/17 for the best fuel economy, or even go to a 305/65/17. Either way I am defiantly going away from a mud tire and back to an all terrain. Thanks for the input.

first off welcome to the tdr. here is my . 02 worth. i ran 285's on my 01 for the last few years, last set of tires i put on i went back to the 265's. i noticed a slight increase in mpg's. i decided that the extra cost of bigger tires and decreased mpg's wasn't worth the looks of bigger tires.

I'm running 285-70 X 17's, and am happy with them about 1850 RPM at 65mph - - My son has 285-75 X 17's and lost about 2 mpg when he replaced the 265's both trucks have 373 rears and 4 X 4
