I removed my silencer but I recall a post a while back where a member slid a tube into the intake tube to streamline the airflow. Can't find it now. Was it PVC, metal, or what? What size?

If you want to streamline the air flow take the intake tube apart and remove the baffle. I did and you can hear the turbo a lot better. If you decide to take the tube apart just use two small screwdrivers and work around the joint on top and when you have the glue broken loose the top comes off and the baffle slides right out. If you do this take your time and work slowly so you don't crack the housing. Then you can reglue it together or what I did was seal it together with RTV and sheetmetal screws.

It's actually a slight odd ball size. Something around 5-1/4" if my memory serves me correct. I remember once before I tried to slip a piece of 5" tubing in plce of it and it was slightly too small

5. 5"od pipe is needed. genos garage sells a piece to replace itmade by MPC i believe... you can also go to air flow systems inc and buy some aluminum intake tubing [they sell it by the foot] in 5. 5"OD. of if you want something better, you can buy a piece of 4"od tubing [either steel exhaust tubing or aluminum intake tubing] and 2 4" 90° rubber intake elbows... home brew torque you got there then...

I just used a piece of 5" exhaust tubing. Even though it was a tad bit small, the rubber tightened up real good.
