Competition Which Dyno?

hey guys i am wondering what suspension i should go with. thing is id like to have some lift either a 2" leveling kit - 4" suspension kit. i was about to lift the truck 6 inches but after i heard my performance would be dead i decided not to go with it. what if i used air bags? 0" on the dragstrip and max level on street (4"? or 6" ) i have 35's on my truck already that is the tires size i want. My main thing is i need speed in this truck and i also need good looks. what is your advice?

You really won't slow your truck down any more with the 6" lift than you will with the 2" lift as long as you are able to keep your axle wrap in check(no lift blocks). Your compromising with 35's instead of the 37's you origanally planned is what will help keep your performance up. Just my opinion, but the 6" will look kinda funny with only 35's so the 2-4" is a good choice. The 2" leveling kit is the cheapest way to go but not really the right way. You really need longer control arms and trac bar to get the front wheels back where they should be. Still, even the 2" suspension kit is almost $500 cheaper than the 4. 5" kit.

I have a 2" lift on my truck. It cost me $200. I bought a tuff country 2" spacers and rear add-a-leafs. I think a 4. 5" skyjacker would look perfect for 35s. I know EXACTLY where you are coming from. I want my truck to be big, but also be able to burn a Viper. As you know the ladies LOVE big trucks!! I think the difference b/t 31s and 35s is 100hp. I maybe putting my truck back to stock. I can't make up my mind. 4th gear burnouts are too much fun!! and they are not possible w/ 35s.

I dynoed with both 265's and 35's on the same dyno, same day, and nothing worth mentioning was lost or gained as far as hp was concerened. The 35's are a little more sluggish upon take off in general driving is all.

4th gear burnout's not possible with 35's? With the right clutch anything is possible. ;)

Justin, you know why I did. Just to see if there was a hp difference running ity bity tires like you.

As far as times go, I really can't give an acaurate answer, when I switched to the 265's I also launched in 4x4, which I have never done with the 35's. BUt the 265's were faster no doubt.

so guys is there some kind of suspension that will help me get the power to the ground? i wont lower my truck because i think thats dumb looking espicially on a 4x4... i plan on getting a leveling kit and getting some traction bars for the rear axle... i plan on doing 4x4 launches. what do i do for the front axles??

You don't need traction bars for the rear unless you are experiencing axlewrap. The front is incapable of axlewrap due to it being a 4 link unless the bushings are worn.
