i was told that it comes on at 300 pan temp. so if it comes on your transmission is pretty much toast.

i live in helena, it's good to see some more mt people.

All Montana thread. My light comes on and it down shifts when my add on gauge reads 260°. Stock '94 & '95 senders are in the output line to the cooler, '96 up are internal but not in the pan.

OK, I thought my gauge was broken for a while. I just installed it and it didn't read anything. I figured it was busted. Hooked up the wife's horse trailer today and finally it registered a whopping 105-110 degrees. Do they normally run this cool? My trans is freshly DTTed (the whole thing) with a MH super-deep pan.

Mine's only been running about 120° with the sub-zero weather we've had the last few days, you're probably ok. This is with a winter front and fanless. Bitterroot got over a foot of snow today, how about you guys?

Good. I was using the redneck winter front, a big sheet of cardboard, but haven't replaced it yet after the trans redo. I have Geno's AM Ultra-Lite gauges, unfortunately I ordered it without checking to see how high the trannies get, so it's only a 100-250* gauge. I suppose that'll be OK, I know when the gauge pegs to start backing out of the stupid pedal.

We've been getting a couple of inches each day now, for a total of around a foot, but we sure didn't get that much snow in one day! It's about damn time, I love winter. I'm sorry, but 30* and windy is NOT winter.
