Fuel Pump tweeking tips needed for my 93 W250

I've gotten several responces to my add in the Wanted Section. I'm in the market for a 91-93 250 Club Cab.

I was going to purchase new 2001. 5 but decided I'd wait until new body style comes out.

I've been reading a lot of the past post looking for information on a 93 4x4 250. I'll be looking at one of these trucks on Sunday.

Owners seems decent on the phone and he claims to have all records. (77,000 miles)

Anything major I should check out????????

Thanks!!

Nollie with just 77,000 miles it's just broken in! The autos have problems with the thottle position sensor (TPS) but I wouldn't let that stop me from buying one.
The 4x4 because of their stiff suspension can have cowl cracks at the base of the a pillars (TSB 23-63-94) but this is repairable also. The only thing that would hold me back would be a bad case of RUST.

77,000 miles!!! That's NOT EVEN broken in yet! Buy It!!! Well, did you get the price yet? They may want a pretty penny for that goat, or, you may get a steal! I don't think there are many common problems other than what Gene mentioned. I've had no problems with mine! Check it out. Hope you get a deal! Good luck!

I would also check for leaks from underneath the engine compartment. They can be expensive (had to replace a vacuum pump). I would also look to see the that the truck has been greased ($1k to rebuilt front end). Mine had 65K when I bought it 2 years ago. The cowl cracks will be a very noticeable rattle when driving down the road but fixable. Good luck.

Hey Nollie!

Just a little note on the Cowl Cracks suggestions by "Gene H" & "Matt S". Do a search for cowl cracks, the original one authored by "Gene H" and the one detailing my experiences a few months back. I thought I had this condition and found I had a broken fender attachment instead of cowl cracks. Also the part numbers are swapped from left to right on the TSB, "Gene H" has the correct ones in his posting!

Having a '93 with complete service records is awesome! The only other concern I might have is whether it was exposed to heavy towing and the condition of the Getrag. If the truck hasn't been subjected to heavy towing the Getrags seem to last a long time.
I also believe that proper maintenance is more important indicator to trucks condition than overall mileage.

Were off to the left coast next weekend to drive the '93 W250 CC (100,000 K) home that my buddy purchased from the TDR Classifieds! Whats 2000+ miles in a Cummins for a friend?

The price is a little steap I think for a 93, but owner is willing to take offers. (16500. 00)

I just bought a 1993 W350 last year for $16,000. With 67K miles. I thought I had paid to much but truck was jam up, so I paid it. My opinion is ist generation will increase in value rather that lose, especially if well kept.
