Whats the best place to pickup boost for a gauge? Anyone have any hints on where the easiest place to get the nylon tubing through the firewall is?

Thanks

wel, since you have an auto truck there is a plate next to the master cylinder where a slave cylinder would go on a 6 speed truck. You can pop a whole in that or there is also a rubber grommet down near the brake pedal that you can go through also. As for the boost signal. You can either drill and tap the intake horn or buy a tapped intake bolt. It is a replacement bolt for the intake that is hollow and you just attach the gauge tubing to it.

I ran mine through where lmills said, I have a picture in my reader rig, I also have a picture of the boost bolt and where I mounted that.

This is my gauges install, Piers Boost Bolt and drilled the plate referred above and ran all wiring/etc through.

Very nice install! It looks stock. I guess I'll be checking on piers website for one of those bolts. Looks like a major timesaver.

depending on who you buy your gauges thru, some dealers will supply the boost bolt with their gauges. I know mine did.

Very very nice install! MLimpert's right... it looks stock!

I have a 6-speed, so that plate isn't there on my truck; I used the rubber grommet near the brake pedal instead. I cut a hole and a slit in it and am passing my wires through that way. To be perfectly honest, it doesn't look very clean. But I keep adding more accessories and the number of wires grows all the time, so there's no sense in making anything more permanent. Actually, I've been toying for awhile with buying a big 60-pin Amphenol connector and bolting it in at that location to pass electrical wiring through (wouldn't work for the EGT gauge or the boost tubing, though).

Matt, also check out this thread about the boost bolt.

Thanks for the compiments. Actually they belong to Curtis and Mike from HotRodDiesels.com in South Houston. They did the install for me and did a great job. Mike by the way is the the one who ran 11. 77 1/4 at HoustonRaceWayPark last Saturday during the Mopar Show and Race Weekend with his work truck. There are posts and video links in Competition Forum. Below is a link to an album in my gallery at DTW that has more pics of gauges install. It all looks stock, thanks again Curtis and Mike.
