I recently fell into a great deal on a '97 ctd engine at a local salvage yard. Its an auto trans version, although my plans are for a std. 5or6 spd. My question is what besides the intercooler and piping and air cleaner should I save? they are going to let me go in the yard and pick some parts from the truck. I am leaning toward a swap into a mid '80's 3\4 ton 4wd Chevy or GMC any tips or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tim Haddad

The engine 'puter and engine bay wiring harness things like that , also the mounts if they're not damaged. Maybe anything that connects to the engine, linkages, cables, hoses, basically if it is bolted the the engine/transmission follow it back to what it hooks to and get that component too.

Good luck!

Yes don't do it..... Well that will not stop you any more than it did me so..... use a 1" body lift, purchase the $175. 00 motor mounts from the guy that makes them, run the Auto trany and find a np205 from a dodge truck that has the pass side output, and replace the dana 44 with a dana 60 front end, a 4" pipe will cause you pain so run a 3"
