Will be headed to TN from NH in a month. Truck has not been more than 150 miles away from home in a few years.

Family is flying, and I have a few days of quiet, just me and the dog with the Goldwing in the back.

Have done recent fluid checks and changes. Had a front WB failure last December so I know those are good.

Will be carrying the normal stuff as far as I know. Let me know if I have missed something.

1. Oil and fuel filters
2. #4 injector line
3. Acc belt
4. Box o Tools

I seem to get nervous when the ticker hits over 225K. I have 235 on it now. Would like to avoid a costly roadside repair if I can.
Looking forward to seeing what a long trip yields for mpg with the 22.5's, 6 speed and a smarty.

Might check the tensioner pulley before you go if you haven't replaced it already. I just replaced mine at 69k, it hadn't failed yet but was pretty rough and dry. I'm probably a little paranoid about it though, that's the only thing that has ever caused me to be stranded on the side of the highway.

I think I replaced it a couple years ago? Will check for sure. I remember putting belt on was a chore, and I have also noticed that all the green has worn off the belt when I did a fuel filter recently.

I have no problem taking my Mule on a long trip in cool weather ( need get ac fixed) it has over 363,000.

Bring extra oil, coolant, 2x6 boards to put jack on if you end up on unstable ground (if you get flat) .

My favorites blue goo and electrical tape , to fix pin hole leaks on hoses especially coolant hoses.

My belt tensioner lasted to 300,000 or close to it. Again Cummins brand.
Plenty of h2o for dog and you. Flashlights or any light that is 12 volt light ( I have an old 12 volt spot light that I use for a trouble light).

Well that has me curious. I bought my truck used with only 21k on it, when I removed the tensioner it had Dayco stamped in the casting. It still had the (presumably) original mopar belt. With that I'd have to guess that either Dayco makes them for mopar or the OEM failed very early and was replaced with a dayco.

Had a Mechanic call it Blue Goo, I guess it could be called poop also. It's good for water/coolant/ oil... . But it's no good for gas or diesel. You have to use Permatex 1 (dries hard or Pematex 2 ( flexable kind of). Now this stuff really looks like poop!

Flats are a non issue now that I have 22.5 rubber. So much stronger tire. I do have a repair kit in on the Wing so that is available. Great idea on the goo stuff. Need to toss a tube in the box. As long as I can keep the rust off of her I am going to rack up the miles. Got it with 190K needing front end work for 6K. Had some electrical gremlins I have fixed, but with north of 233K it seems good.

I kept my 7.3 for 300K. Would like to go 400 with this one.
