Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Another ecm question?

hello everyone and merry christmas. i know this question has been asked a thousand times but i need a new turbo. i would like to know what would be the best turbo for my truck with the bombs i have? i have talked to piers and he told me i have to much fuel for an hx40 which is the turbo i thought would be the best for me. how would an hx55 work? would it be to big for my application? thanks

You will have a hard time spooling a stock HX55. I don't think you are too bad off for a 40 but what start with something that is undersized from the begining because we always end up adding more fuel :) It looks like you might need to consider one of the turbos from the B1 line or twins?

I have a PDR 40. It spools good but is still to small for me. I beleive that twins are the best choise for me. I plan on adding a secound turbo to my 40 someday.

RBratby,

Try to talk to other turbo mfg's. I just got my HTT 35/40 turbo from Santa, I must have been very good. ;) I talked to Steve at 801-304-0700. I discussed all my uses of my truck including a daily driver to & from work. That was the compromise to my turbo question. It doesn't hurt to ask more people who actually put the turbo's together. :-{}

Good Luck,

Happy New Year, Oo.

If a 40 wont support your fuel either will a hybrid 35/40 look into diesel dynamics jammer or max boost turbo's

kyle4,

I may be wrong but isn't the stock turbo a 35? The HTT turbo I have going in is a quick spool designed for my driving/racing style. Oo. The 40 would be to big for the city stop & go of my daily drive. ;)

I think you are confusing my situation with that of RBratby. He needs the bigger turbo. :D

Some early 95s (or maybe all of them) had the WH1Cs if I remember right but I could be wrong. I know the 94s had them (as mine usto have one).
