Well guys I think I am ready to get Twins. I am curious to see what people that own and/or have driven various twin setups have to say about the various options out there.

Greg at GreatLakesDieselWorks will help me with the install. He is familiar with the various Piers setups via previous installation. He suggested that I ask the TDR audience for opinions on the subject.

I am looking for quick spool and cool egts for 500-600hp with no water/meth or other drugs. Typically, the truck is unloaded but I still want towing ability.

I know Ole Poole and Piers are well regarded and competitive on price. ATS seems a bit pricey (perhaps its worth it??). BD seems to get favorable reviews how about them?? Relentless?? Any other suggestions??

I wish II would offer a bolt on twins kit. If so I would send my sps66 in for a downsizing and purchase the rest of the kit. They don't seem to be too keen on twins (observed during conversations), I suppose I don't blame them they sell a ton of singles.

As always thanks for any feedback.

The last time I was over at their business - 6 or so months ago - they had prototype twins pipes made up for one of Brady's sons' trucks. But, yeah, in the meantime they had the Silver series turbos also being introduced to market.

I have the ATS 2000/5000 Setup. It seems to spool fairly fast. ATS is working on a new 3000 for the top which is supposed to help out on the low end. Just need to make sure you have the fuel to support the compounds.

II twins

While at the SEMA show in Vegas I spoke with Brady, and showed me the new twins setup. Its on Brett's truck and the FASS truck. They are a big set of twins.

Aside from that, Brady took the time to explain alot of thing in depth, in regards to making reliable power.

Good people great product!

If your going to out perform the 66 or a Bullet you not going to do it with a small set of Twins. I ran the 66 with a B/B for over a year and have countless hard runs on it. I figure I lost 75 hp on #2 when I dropped the B/B off but only dropped EGT's 100-125 degrees. That's a good combo but would like to see the Bullet/BB combo on a 12V as much as I would like to upgrade my 66 to a bullet.

To each his own but to drop another 5 grand, I would think twice about it.

laggy

Brady said you will need some fuel to spin them. But if playing the game hard enough to need that setup, fuel should be there. I saw the fass truck and had some time to look under the hood. The setup is huge.

Brett is making good number with them but I have not seen his truck go.

All I know is in the 500-600 hp category the BD twins have been Awesome. Just Awesome. I installed a set of the ATS compounds on a customers truck and wound up removing them and installing BDs in their place about 3 days later.

For off the shelf, simple install, proven durable and to perform the BD kit flat out rocks!

It will be hard for any twin setup to out perform a good single setup for towing in stop and go traffic, I had BDs an one other ,My towing is 90% city, I removed them. The BD sept-up went on a customers OTR truck and he is very satisfied with the result, the other set were custom built and sold to a customer in KY. . I have not heard from him ,so that a good sign. I think the BD kit is the Most install friendly and cost effective. My mileage suffer with Both. . when towing,it was the major reason I removed them Both.

Twins are all about lowering egt's. In town they are not an asset. Out on the road a set of twins designed for towing will run at least 200 to 300 degrees cooler than a single at the same hp level. I watched a video of a truck running Mach 6's and an SPS 62 (520hp range) By 100 mph from a 60mph start he hit about 1600 degrees. My truck at the same power level with the SPS 62 over B2 or K31 will just hit 1200 at 100mph. Fuel mileage on the road seems to be equal to a single.

We have 2 kits available. Large kit is B/B and Silver Bullet. Smaller set is K31 and Super 62. Spooling is very good for Twin sets. We have them for 2nd gen. and 3rd gen.

Maybe I just lucked out, though when my 66/BB twin setup was in my 95 dually, I didn't feel it to be very laggy. It was also an automatic. I had a 13mm pump with Dynomite Diesel 4's. At wide open throttle I just got a small haze from the exhaust. Then again, I only ran the truck for a few miles before it was transferred into the 3rd gen. Then the twins piping didn't fit well because it was made for the 2nd gen. . It fit, just very close to the firewall. The twins kit with now an Industrial Injection hybrid BB is now sitting in my garage. Garmon is just going with a single on it.

The SPS 62 over K31 is an outstranding daily driver and tow setup. On a side note: If they are using the standard k31 with the wastegated housing, you can pull the k31 off and put on a B2 without modifying anything. You will just have to move your exhaust system forward about 1. 5 inches. It allows you to have a tow setup and a high performance setup. I don't want to see one of theirs, It will make mine look like a H. S. metal shop project.
