ok, i have an 06 3500 sw lb quad cab 4x4 6 speed and as of right now, im puttin 711 ft-ibs. to the ground on the stock clutch with the quad race on full/cold air/straight with cat/GDP 392 plus bigline kit so i could actually be putting down more since i just installed the GDP kit and boy was my truck starving for fuel!!! i havent slipped the clutch yet, at least not enough to notice and i even pulled with it last year. with the GDP installed, i might be approaching the 800 mark on torque but i have yet to dyno with the new set-up.

Now for my question, im lookin to move my truck towards the 1,xxx mark on torque as a fun daily driver and was wanting to know what this gear was puttin up with on other guys trucks. i will be replacing the clutch with a good ole SBC in the next couple weeks so i know thatll be taken care of but what about the input shaft? anything i can do or replace it with to hold these numbers reliably?

it will be more street and the weekend drag plus a possible sled pull if i dont get a 12v soon enough to play with.

Derrick Dryden down in kentucky busted 2 of them back to back sledpulling...

Thats just one person... . I think there needs to be more pulling done with the G56 to see if it will hold up.

my poor little g56 is holding up ok. i have beat the snot out of it every day since i bought the truck. and you can see my dyno numbers in my signature. i would not dare pull with it though. unless someone can prove that they will hold up.

well i have proof of my 711ft-ibs with the dyno at MC Racing in kansas city and i did pull with it once at the outlaws in garnett kansas. i also did a 1800 rpm drop on the stock clutch in 2nd gear/4low and it held just fine and 20K miles later still doesnt slip and like RobertP, its been run hard since day one with my torque numbers.
