What would be easier

Cummins 6AT 3.4l on ebay

need help with adapter for Ford conv.

I want to build a regular cab short bed with a cummins and twins, running about 700hp. Question is would it be easier to chop a 3/4 fram to fit a short box or take a 1/2 ton frame and make it stronger and put a bigger rearend in it. Truck would be my hotrod and blow away guys at the track, ie. auto and posi, tubbed rearend and lightened any way possible. This is all in the thought process but money is nowhere to be found right now. I was thinking of possiblely doing a custom rear frame to run a racing suspension with a good four link setup so as to be able to get the power to the ground. It wouldn't be a total sleeper but setup right if you can get the power down I think it would almost fly!!! Not to mention be a blast to cruise in.

Thanks for your advice

I would vote for chopping a 3/4 ton frame. My reason is that there are a lot of points that are beefed up for the weight and torque on a 3/4 ton frame that would would be impossible or too time consuming to reproduce on a 1/2 ton frame. I've just completed such a frame chop and it wasn't that hard.
