Competition Pulling with 3.54s and auto

I have a 99 Quad Cab, Short Bed, 4X4, 4. 10's, LSD, 315's BFG's, Drag Comp, aFe, Straight Pipe and a Full DTT auto w/ billet input.

Future plans include Mach 4 injectors, HX40, Pusher Pump ect. , 5" exaust.

I know this will put me in the 13's for sure but what would it take for 12's besides stock tires??

Thanks

Dan,you should be there once you get the HX40,injectors,and exhaust. id drop to 285 tires if you cant get there with the 315's. Dropping to the smaller 245/265 doesnt gain you much with your 4. 10 gears, they spin too easy, 60 ft's are too slow and the 4. 10 have you wound on the governor on the big end.

I ran 12. 9s in my '01 with a HX40, PM3comp/EZ and DD Supermentals, and my dad's has run the exact same times with the exact same setup in his '02. Snowman is right... the big tires might slow you a little, but the 4. 10s will help.

What tire size is preffered for a 3. 54 rear end to get a better 1/4 mile time? When you guys are running for the 1/4 mile time do you shut overdrive off untill a certain speed?

You may want to reconsider the Mach 4's. I believe its too much fuel for the hx40. You may want to scale back to the Mach 3's. Nitrous would work with the 4's and the hx40 but turbo longevity would be questionable.

I think a PDRHX40 should be fine. Listed next to the mach 4's it states for use with large turbo's. That aside I dont want to spend an extra $500 on a nitrous system, although I heard it helps with the egt's???

snowman and banshee are correct on the 410's and 285's. I had the 315's with 410's and went to the 285's with 410's. I thing the 285 410 combo is perfect. -Dave

N20 helps with egt's????? Not that I have seen! You will burn more of the fuel hence you will probably see higher egt's. The intake air will be cooler though.
