275's + edge comp (good price on 275's)

or EDM mach2's alone for now (price of edm's eat up comp money)

and get the comp later. with what is done to truck so far, going to 4 inch exhaust but fabing that myself turbo will have to come later. also going to afe with proguard7 for air. this truck is a daily driver and use it to pull with.

You don't mention what transmission you have? Also, Where do you think you want to end up (hp wise)?

Comp & 275's might be to much for stock auto transmission-not sure about manual.

Also, 275's might not be enough for you a yr or two down the road. Very few members seem to stay at that level for long.

The comp. will give you a bost fooler and timing advance. You may need higher boost with bigger injectors, I did my box first.

If you have a H. O. it will respond better to injectors then a box.

You also need to plan on transmission or clutch work, my stock clutch lasted one day with my new injectors before it slipped.

I guess I have no advice, just some other things to consider.

thanks for the input changed my sig to answer your questions. as far as where i want to end up HP wise:rolleyes: does it ever end?? :D :D

ETC, I'd buy the comp. if that's the box you've chosen. Like I said, you'll get timing advance and a boost fooler. Then save for the stage 2's and clutch.

one more time on top

223 views and only four guys with an opinion on what to do with this truck where are all of the bombohlics at??? want to get this done in the next week or two. old man is coming home from flordia and since i got him a tuner and air kit for his furd for xmas he keeps laying a 100 bill down in front of me and tells me he'll be waiting at the end of the road.

I have 275s and an early model EDGE box. . the "3 light" one that has 3 levels or off, with in-cab control. Have over 50K miles on my stock clutch (see sig). Never dynoed but I figure it's 320 HP and low 700s torque. I have run it on the track, and G-Tech.

Truck weighs 6,650 Lbs, runs 15. 9@92 in the 1/4. Clutch will slip in the colder air of winter because of better intercooler efficiency.

Only slips if you abuse it, like level 3, 5th gear, 1900 RPMs, when the turbo spools up and starts making power, the clutch will slip but just a little. Boost is around 32 PSI.

Not much smoke either once boost is up. . basically, a small black cloud till turbo spools, then just a haze. I don't want to attract a lot of attention pouring out black smoke. Bigger injectors smoke a lot and can be a hassle trying to soft peddle the throttle till boost builds. Just my opinion.

If you keep the Comp out of the highest settings in the winter your stock clutch should be fine if you don't abuse it.

I had 100HP injectors and no clutch problems. Added a comp last week but have not done the pump wire as I am waiting on the wildcat max flow kit that is backordered. Within 100 my clutch was slipping on level 1 (EZ mode). As the extra power comes in at 1700RPM the tach will shoot right over to 2700RPM. I turned the box off so all it is, is a boost fooler and it will still slip. I must have been right on the verge of slipping it with my old setup. Jake

thanks for the answers. had a little clutch problem today so that might have to come first. sucks everytime i get money put back somthing else happens. good thing i love this truck:D :D

I vote that you apply for a big credit card and go to EEP and get "set" up. lol I would go to an 80hp injector and a hybred 35 turbo so you can keep your E brake and use an ez or van aken box for timing. And get a "good" clutch before you go to far.
