i found a 92 or 93 1st gen and i can get it for $500. the owner says that the injector pump is bad, has never changed the fuel filter. he also said there was a pump in the tank. my dad had a 90 and there was no pump in the tank. it has 200,000 or so and is an auto, four wheel dirve. is this a good price and if so where could i take the pump to have it rebuilt or buy a new one. thanks

Ethan.

I would go for it - hard to go wrong for that price. I would pull the fuel filter and put a new one on then see if it will run - just might get lucky.

I just bought a 91 for $400 because of transmission problems and it ended up being the heat exchange, and it ended up a great deal for me. So I would say go for it, worst case you might have another $800-1000 (not sure what they cost) in a pump and that would still be a great price on the truck.

You don't want to take on such a big and possible expensive repair.

Send the owner contact info to me by PM. :-laf:-laf

I think that you should send me the info via PM... :-laf Now in all seriousness, after you realize that the rest of use are chompin at the bit for a chance like this, you can buy the truck, find out what's wrong with it and always part it out to recoup your $500 if you decide it wasn't worth fixing.

well im going to buy it but not yet. im am more or less laid off and starting a new job mon. so the extra money hasnt started to roll in yet. the truck is at his friends shop burried in 4 feet of snow behind the shop so i am going to sleep on it for a little bit but i am going to buy it.
