Who's selling TiM video's?

Bathroom reading material...

The principal of one of the schools in the district where I do technology work at wants me to sit through a session with the teachers, so they can complain about their computer problems. The district passed a $13 million technology bond in June, but the money won't be available for at least a year. What I think is that they want to start yelling the loudest now, so they will be the first to get the new stuff.

To give you an idea of what they are using now:

Compaq Deskpro

Pentium 2

32 mb RAM

3 GB Hard Drives

Windows 95

Novell Client

Netscape 4. 7

These machines are slower than **** and I feel like screaming every time I sit down to work on one. I've tweaked these things until my fingers are sore and I understand their frustrations, but there isn't anything I can do about it because our parts budget for the entire district is $3,000 for the year

Should I go to the meeting and try to explain that they need to be patient, or should I just keep busy with real work that needs to be done?

ARRRRRGGGGGG!

Doc

Only attend if the Principal & the Head of the School Board attend also. ;)

Sounds like you're being "set-up" to take their heat.

Pass the invitation up the food chain

If you can't help them out, what's the point of getting griped at? It isn't like you wouldn't like to resolve their issues.

Tell them how lucky they are to have virus proof Windows '95 and remind them that they are getting paid by the hour, what's the hurry?
