NV4500 ... What would you expect, if this was done?

An NV4500, 19k miles, oil drained & filled back up with a good synthetic of the right viscosity. Then go 100k, 150k or 200k more miles ... what "shape" would the transmission be in?

thanks

This is a trick question, right Forrest? I'm gonna guess the "shape" of this hypothetical trans would be whatever shape a 4-spd trans has - square, maybe?

Under normal/light driving I would expect it okay @ 100 to 150K, but 200K and over sycncro and or bearing troubles.

If used for towing I would expect troubles at 100K but thats just what I would expect if I serviced it that way.

Be careful. No matter what anybody says, the NV4500 takes an oil all of it's own. Make sure that the oil you use has the same properties as what is called for by New Venture transmission manifaturers.
