My uncle has a 94 ram diesel, and he needs a new fuel sending unit. I was looking at a 98 5 speed dually 4x4 at the wreckers today. The date of mfg was 11-97. Will this sending unit work on his 94?

Im not sure if the engine was a 12 or 24 valve, as it wasnt in the truck, but the truck was a diesel. Thanks for any help.

Most of the second gens had the same issues with the fuel sender. You would be better to search on this site for posts about those who have devised a repair for them. I had bought a replacement sender before I realized that some here were repairing them. Another used one will just have to be changed sooner than a repaired or new one.

I repaired mine. After the repair it was off. I checked the resistance. It was wrong. Too much aggravation to attempt to repair the sending unit instead of replacing it.
